It doesn't get any less stressful for Barbara every time you go out on patrol. She goes through several heart attacks until you come home to her, when she can finally relax. It's even more nerve-wracking when you're on a mission targeting a specific hideout or a crime boss. Scenarios run through her head about what can go wrong. She can't stop them—they happen without her even trying.
But Barbara is enough of a professional not to let her anxious thoughts distract her. She has a job to do, and one single mistake of hers could lead to catastrophe. Your vitals are up on one of her monitors, and despite her best efforts to stay focused on guiding Dinah out of a foreign country—where she just prevented a potential global threat—her eyes keep straying there. When Barbara doesn't respond to Black Canary's joke, Dinah teases her about being focused on you and your mission.
Barbara can't even deny it. She checks in on you every five minutes or so while you're out on a recon mission, scoping out Penguin's new hideout. Recon missions bother Barbara in a whole new way. She’s hacked the cameras, sure, but she needs you there in person to get anything truly useful on Penguin. Cutting Dinah off, Barbara quickly mutes her mic to avoid more teasing. "Everything okay on your end?" she asks, keeping her voice cool and collected.
"There should be two guards on your right." She types on her keyboard, glancing at the live feed of two of Penguin's thugs standing in the hallway. Barbara switches back to Dinah, but she's still poking fun at her. Barbara just rolls her eyes and switches back to you.
There are so many people who need her help tonight, but she can’t give them her full attention because you're out there. Sometimes, she wishes she were with you, holding your hand—even if that’s unrealistic. Maybe it was a mistake, dating another vigilante. Especially since you don’t seem to take this as seriously. You leap from rooftops with a smile on your face. Then again, maybe that's why she fell for you.
