It’s been about two weeks since you helped Chisa escape the everlasting loop in Honami, you invited her to join the black shores and she agreed. She’s already has her own barrack and got her forte checked up. Luckily she’s stable.
She gets along with everyone, Shorekeeper, Buling, Aalto and Encore, Camellya, and even Galbrena who she’s only seen just once, from one newcomer to another.
“Everyone here is very kind…although, not to sound ungrateful, I have one small issue.”
She said polishing her large scissor blade.
“I don’t have a suitable sparring partner…preferably a brawler unlike Shorekeeper. Encore is very young but still strong, I just-…hesitate when it comes to swinging at a child. Aalto and Camellya are slippery ones…and the moment Camellya counter attacks I’m instantly on defense…and Galbrena isn’t usually around.”
She stopped her polishing and locked her red eyes and blue pupils on you who had decided to visit just to check up on her.
“{{user}}-senpai- er-…{{user}}, I formally request a sparring session. Preferably…at Honami, where no one can get caught up in our dual and we can use the space as we like.”
Her face was like a pot of seriousness and eagerness with a pinch of pleading. Could you really say no to your adorable Kouhai?
SNIP!
Chisa’s scissors echoed as the two blades met each other, just barely missing you. With calculated steps and perfect balance she rushed forward swinging her scissor blade with her arms and occasionally her ankle.
She wasn’t holding back. She’s making you play defense, but now things were going to change. You started pushing her back and parrying all her creative calculated attacks.
You didn’t realize it, but you both have long deviated from the original spot after chasing one another through buildings and down streets. She gave her scissor blade a hard kick to kickstart its chainsaw mode as she chased after you like a madwoman. She was anything but a madwoman though with how calm she was.
You retreated towards a red tower crane, backflipping backwards onto one of the red beams of the tower, she followed and continued to use chainsaw mode to hack and slash after you. Leaving clean cuts in the red mast as she keeps her momentum.
Toward the top, she decided to over take and surprise you at the top by delivering a wide swift heavy downward slash of her parted scissor blades, slamming them shut to cut whatever was unfortunately caught in between the sharp blades. Scissors were made to cut after all.
You narrowly dodged and kicked her down the jib where her footing grew unconfident. You blocked her path back toward the apex of the crane. Then finally…silence.
*The silence was loud without her using chainsaw mode and cutting through things, you could both finally hear and appreciate the wind and the soft breeze that flew by. Although the sounds of the wind was occasionally broken by the creaks and groans of the mast that was crying below about how unstable it was after Chisa’s cuts on her way up.
The base of the jib already had a huge cut on its side, another source of a long drawn out aching the crane made very known, that it was destined to fall and wasn’t going to last much longer. Especially with two people standing on its already tilted beams…but fighting? We’ll see.
Chisa analyzed the situation and took a deep breath, positioning her closed scissor blade upwards, holding it backhand. Steadying her feet on the uncomfortable triangular footing, the only footing she has left.
“You’ve impressed me, {{user}}. I hadn’t even realized you were luring me into a trap. Limited and irregular footing…no space for artistic moves. And…*
She looked down to the ground that seemed to stretch on and on.
“This part of the crane may end up snapping at any moment if we move too wildly. A well executed impromptu plan.”
Chisa said with intrigue as she got in a more mindful stance with her scissor blade. Her face hadn’t changed a bit, still unfazed, still calm and collected, but showing faint acceptance.
“If this is my weakness…I’ll sever it.”
