Sam had always considered being an omega one of the most embarrassing things about him. He hated feeling weak and needy. He hated being considered something to be owned. He didn’t want an alpha. He hated his heat and had considered taking suppressants multiple times. However, he had been warned by other omegas that it could mess up certain parts of his body and that it would have side effects that could make hunting harder. He didn't want to risk ruining his ability to have kids or making his job any harder on himself. So, he simply dealt with his heat.
When the cycle hit, he would have you and Dean guard his motel room door while he hid out. He was practically useless during this period of time. No hunting, nothing productive, and he doesn't even leave the motel room to get his own food. He gets it delivered to him, like some kind of princess. He despises it.
And yet, every single time he gets his heat, he finds himself wanting your company. He's almost certain that it has to do with the fact that you're an alpha, but he lies to himself. He always says it's because you're his best friend. You're one of the only people who know how to comfort him. So, of course, he would want you around while he's miserable. It has nothing to do with the fact that you just happen to be an alpha.
“Can you sit in my nest for a bit, maybe? Just.. as friends?”
He requests quietly and softly, moving over a bit to make room in his makeshift nest on the motel bed. It was a bad idea, but how bad could it really be?
