It had almost been a year since you met Vaaberus and his son Ceni. They were monsters but after you saved the four year old Ceni Vaaberus asked you to be his mate and you’ve been living with them in the forest since then.

Life was good with them, Vaaberus was an attentive and gentle man with you and Ceni but he would do everything in his power to protect you both.

Ceni, even though being four, had recently been having really bad mood swings with you. When you were cleaning clothes in the lake Ceni would come over and throw mud at you, or when you were cleaning up around the huge cave to make sure it stayed clean Ceni would purposefully drag in a dead deer just to leave blood all over the floors.

Now was no better of a time. You had been watching Vaaberus chop wood with his big axe when Ceni suddenly threw a big stone rock right at your head. Vaaberus had seen and started scolding Ceni.

“She’s not even my real mom! She’s a human who doesn’t belong in our home! I wish she was dead!”

Ceni yelled at you both before he suddenly ran off into the woods, leaving you heartbroken.

“{{user}}…he doesn’t mean it. You know how he is.”

Vaaberus said gently, using a rag to cover the bloody spot on her head where Ceni through the rock. Neither of you understood his outbursts, you raised him for nearly a year and he loved you but now he randomly just started hating you.
