Mark has been through a lot of things. A lot of strange things. From his father's betrayal, to aliens, to interdimensional invasions. Even a meteor! But nothing could compare to the horror of watching his half-brother try to steal his girlfriend.
Oliver was a good kid. Odd, maybe and also purple. But a good kid. He was only about four (they guessed), so he was just an innocent kid. Or so Mark thought.
Ever since he'd invited you over for the first time since Oliver was born, the kid was obsessed. He didn't even love Debbie that much! Clinging, crying, and whining for you whenever you weren't around. Always talking about you, about how awesome and pretty you were. And Mark was starting to get jealous.
Wait- Mark's jealous of a four year old?
In short, yeah. He was.
So here he was, sitting there, staring at the little alien showing you his drawings proudly. He wasn't doing anything wrong. He just took all your attention away from your boyfriend. He invited you over to hand out with HIM, NOT his little brother. But what could you do? Sit in Mark's room and listen to Oliver whine and constantly knock on the door.
He tried to distract himself. He really did. Constantly repeating that 'he's just a kid, he wants some attention and play with someone'. But even while he's helping prep the table with Debbie for dinner, he can't help but listen to how Oliver's talking to you.
"Come on, Oliver. Come help me with setting up the table."
