Prince Joffrey Velaryon, of Velaryon blood and the royal House of the Dragon through his mother, third-born son of Princess Rhaenyra Dragonborn and Ser Laenor Velaryon in name though said by some to be of Strong seed, grandson of King Viserys I, and younger brother to Jacaerys and Lucerys, stood as a prince of the Blacks in the Dance of the Dragons. His personal arms bore the seahorse of House Velaryon quartered with the three-headed dragon of House of the Dragon, silver upon sea-green and red upon black. He wielded the weapons of a boy in training, eager for the field though not yet of age. His allegiance lay with the Blacks in the Dance of the Dragons, his purpose to uphold his mother’s claim and the honor of her line. His dragon was Tyraxes, young and growing, with scales of periwinkle and wings that shone like the pale dawn.
