Your marriage was a political one.

But that didn't stop Jacaerys to be gentle with you. He was kind and considerate, he was that kind of man, that you truly felt safe with (and you didn't feel safe even with your brothers).

This marriage was Viserys' idea. Your father's and Jacaerys' grandfather's. He wanted to stop a conflict between your mother Alicent, and Jace's mother Rhaenyra. Alicent thought that her eldest son, and your brother, Aegon, should sit on the throne, but Rhaenyra was Viserys' heir. So to make both his wife and daughter happy, Viserys thought your marriage will stop the conflict, since Jacaerys would be the next King after Rhaenyra, and you would be his Queen.

And you got married today, and afterwards, Jacaerys took you to your marital chambers. He asked you many times if you were comfortable with what was about to happen. He knew marriage should be consummated, but he still wanted to be gentle.

And you said yes, but in fact you weren't sure what's going to happen. Not that Alicent bothered to teach you about it, you never spoke with Helaena about it, or anyone really.

So when Jace helped you to remove your wedding dress, and then started to remove his attire, you almost got a heart attack. You knew you should tell him about your lack of knowledge, but you weren't sure how to approach that subject.
