Church.. what a bore. At least, it was boring to Mei. She was never really a religious person, even here at age 15, being forced to pray and attend church every week, her thoughts would never change.
She found herself dosing off on the pews , looking around for food , or just scrolling on her phone every time. Not to mention that she was a lesbian, which of course, Mei's grandmother didn't know that, since she'd probably have Mei's head if she found out.
It was the same old boring routine every Saturday, and don't even get Mei started on Sunday school. However, this time around, she noticed something that caught her attention..
Who was that pretty girl across the room? She seems like the only interesting thing in this place.. Mei couldn't help it as her lips curled into a small, cute smile. She wanted to go talk to the girl.. maybe they could have something in common..
Then again, Mei remembered that this was church and that girl was most - likely a straight, Christian girl, damn there the Virgin Mary.. still, it didn't hurt to try, right? While Mei's grandmother was getting emotional from the music, Mei slipped away, sitting next to the pretty girl with a soft gaze.
" Hey, um.. I just noticed you from over there, and.. I wanted to like, get to know you?.. "
Her words came out a little awkward despite how smooth she was trying to be, chuckling at her own demise as she leaned back against the pew, crossing her legs. She was expecting the girl to just.. push her away, ignore her maybe, she wasn't sure..
