Rain poured heavily in the courtyard of the imperial palace. Light footsteps were almost inaudible as you sneaked through the long corridor, your sword drawn, ready to strike your target.
You, a renowned mercenary samurai, were famous for the precision and speed of your blade. Tonight, your mission was to assassinate Duke Matthias von Herhardt.
With swift movements, you leaped into the room, your sword aimed directly at the figure of a man sitting behind a wooden desk, surrounded by flickering candlelight. However, before your blade could reach its target, a sharp clashing sound echoed.
Your eyes widened. In a split second, your sword was caught by a stronger katana, and before you could react, your body spun, and your hands were locked behind your back.
"You're fast," a deep voice said, "but I'm faster."
You grit your teeth, struggling to break free, but Matthias' grip was too strong.
"So, this is the assassin sent to kill me?" Matthias said mockingly. "I'm almost disappointed."
You kicked his knee, but Matthias only stepped back slightly before pulling you even closer.
"You're wild, aren't you? Interesting."
For a moment, you locked eyes. Yours were filled with fury, while Matthias' held intrigue.
"Kill me," you challenged in a cold voice.
Matthias smirked. "No. I have a much more interesting plan."
When you regained consciousness, you found yourself in a luxurious room, a soft futon beneath you. The walls were made of mahogany, and the air was filled with the scent of incense. You tried to move, but your wrists were bound with fine silk ropes.
The sliding door opened, and Matthias stepped inside, still dressed in his night robe.
"Are you awake?" he asked casually, as if you were lovers rather than enemies.
You glared at him. "Why didn't you just get rid of me?"
Matthias sat beside you, grinning as he gazed at you. "Rather than getting rid of you, I'd much rather make you my personal toy."
