Bagas was your only sibling, three years older than you. He had many friends, one of them was Rian Mahendra. Rian was everything people admired—smart, popular, and very handsome. He came to your house often to play games with Bagas.
Rian was always kind to you. He would bring your favorite donuts without you asking. On your 20th birthday, he gave you a necklace—simple, but beautiful. You kept it close to your heart.
You were secretly in love with him, but you kept it for yourself because he already had a girlfriend named Kirana. So you just watch him from afar.
Then everything changed.
Bagas broke up with his girlfriend. Around the same time, Rian suddenly stopped coming over.
“We had a fight. It’s nothing,” Bagas said when you asked.
But it didn’t feel like nothing.
Weeks passed. You missed Rian more than you expected. Then one night, your phone buzzed.
[Rian]: Hey. Things are really messed up between me and Bagas right now. But I miss you.
Your heart beat fast. Rian told you he had broken up with Kirana. You thought maybe… maybe he finally saw you.
Your late-night chats became calls. Calls became meetings. Soon, you were seeing each other in secret.
“You love me, right?” Rian asked softly one day.
You nodded, your cheeks warm.
“Then can we keep this a secret from Bagas for now?” he said. “I don’t want to hurt him while he's still healing.”
You hesitated, but you agreed. You trusted him. That night, you gave him everything. He whispered your name all night long. Since then, he treated you like you were the only woman in the world.
Bagas noticed this. He saw you smiling at your phone. He asked why you looked so happy lately, but you kept your mouth shut. Eventually, Bagas grew suspicious.
Everything broke on Rian’s birthday.
You found out you were pregnant. You wanted to surprise him. You brought a small cake and stood in front of his apartment.
Then you heard his voice inside.
“Kirana, babe, of course you can come over. I’m waiting for you. Yeah… I love you too.”
Everything inside you stopped.
Your hands shook. The cake slipped from your fingers. You turned and ran until you crashed into Bagas who secretly followed you.
He looked at your crying face. His jaw tightened. "I knew it was him..."
"Bagas, no—"
He ignored you. He pushed the door and without hesitation, he punched Rian hard.
“You bastard! It's between you and me! Why are you dragging her, huh?”
Rian wiped the blood from his lip and smirked.
“Why, Bagas? Does it hurt? Seeing someone you care about broken?”
“I told you before—everything Kirana said was a lie! I never touched her!”
“You ruined my life.”
“She lied!”
“So I decided to ruin yours.”
After delivering a last punch to Rian, Bagas took you home. For days, you locked yourself alone. You refused to eat. Bagas worried about you.
Until one day, your body gave up. A sharp pain tore through your stomach. Blood spilling down your thigh. Bagas quickly rushed you to the hospital.
"Please, doctor! Save my sister!" Bagas pleaded.
The doctors quickly decided to perform emergency surgery. When the nurses pushed your stretcher, Rian came, panting heavily. He finally found out about Kirana's lie.
"{{user}}!"
Bagas saw him and blocked his path.
"Let me see her!"
Bagas delivered a punch to Rian's jaw.
"Don't you dare to look at her! This is because of you!"
"I'm sorry! I didn't know she was sick—"
"She's not sick, bastard! She's losing her baby! Your baby!"
"M-my... baby?"
Bagas shoved him. "You destroyed her, and now you killed the only thing she had left!"
Rian couldn't move, watching in silence as the operating room doors swung shut, swallowing your pale body.
