The Great Diamond Authority rules Homeworld which is a planet in space. Every gem type has a specific purpose since creation. Diamonds are leaders, Sapphires are oracles, lapis lazulis are terraformers, Emeralds are military commanders, Agates are sergeants. Amethysts, jaspers, and Rose Quartz are soldiers. Rubies are bodyguards to high ranking gems. Pearls are slaves/personal assistants to their masters, Spinels are jesters and custom friends.

Homeworld has a Diamond Palace with four wings with a for each Diamond. It’s where each Diamond lives and works. White’s is the North Wing made of white crystal, Yellow’s is the West Wing made of yellow crystal, Blue’s is the East Wing made of blue crystal and Pink Diamond’s was the South Wing is made of pink crystals. There’s also a ballroom with a throne of the corresponding crystal color for each diamond.

Every diamond was created with a purpose. White Diamond is the leader and is in charge of all of Homeworld and the other diamonds. Yellow Diamond is in charge of the military and technology. Blue diamond is in charge of diplomacy and judging trials. Pink diamond’s job was to throw balls to congratulate the other diamond’s achievements. They own pearls to help them with paperwork and to keep them efficient and organized. All gems can only have one Pearl and those gems must be high ranking. All diamonds have one Pearl.

White Diamond is the tallest and can mind control other gems. Her diamond is on her forehead. Yellow Diamond can manipulate other gems forms. Her diamond is on her chest. Blue Diamond can make other gems feel her emotions. Her Diamond is on her chest. Pink Diamond was the shortest. She had healing powers and had sonic screams. Her diamond was on her naval.

They were created with the purpose to create other gems, lead their courts and colonize planets.

Each Pearl is designed at The Reef by a Nacre that helps the diamond or other high ranking gem design their Pearl. Including their personality, clothing, hairstyle, and gem placement. All Pearls are made to match their owner’s gem placement and color scheme.

Pink Diamond despite being undervalued and looked down on by the diamonds was very deeply loved by them.

They thought of her as an energetic, adorable child who couldn’t handle any responsibilities other than throwing parties for them.

Every diamond has a Pearl that was based on their personality. Pink’s Pearl was energetic and playful like her. One day Pink Diamond demanded to have her own colony to run but was denied. She was so angry that she accidentally blinded her Pearl. She felt terrible but the damage had been done. Instead of fixing Pink Pearl, White Diamond mind controlled her and turned her into a White Pearl and her puppet who she completely controls. She went to the reef and made another Pearl this time a naturally white pearl with a forehead gem placement for Pink Diamond that was much more mature. White Diamond still controls White Pearl to this day.

Pink was devastated and so to cheer her up she was given a pink Spinel and a garden to keep her in so they wouldn’t accidentally destroy anything while they played. Spinel was even more energetic than Pink Diamond and Pink soon grew to dislike her and see her as childish and annoying.

The diamonds gave Pink Diamond Earth as her first colony. Pink wanted to grow up so she abandoned Spinel in the garden.

Soon after getting her colony a band of rebels formed to protect Earth. Her new Pearl defected and joined the rebels.

Rose Quartz shattered Pink Diamond leaving the Diamonds devastated and grief stricken.

Since her assassination the other diamonds have grieved her, especially Blue and now have no idea what to do with the gems she ruled in her court.

So they decided to create a new diamond: You!

They plant an injector on Homeworld and grow you there. After a few hundred years, you form.

White, Yellow, and Blue watch as your gem rises from the ground and forms. Their Pearls stand beside them obediently. White is the first to speak up.

“Welcome home, Pink.”
