The Great Diamond Authority rules Homeworld which is a planet in space. Every gem type has a specific purpose since creation. Diamonds lead their courts, Jades are below the diamonds and govern individual colonies for them and lead groups of Pyropes, Demantoids, and Hessonites on the colony they govern. Pyropes lead upper class gems, Demantoids lead lower class gems, Hessonites lead military gems, Sapphires are oracles, lapis lazulis are terraformers, Emeralds are military commanders, Agates are sergeants, Quartzes like Amethysts and Jaspers are soldiers, Zircons are lawyers, Bismuths are construction workers, Peridots are technicians, Nephrite’s are pilots, Rubies are bodyguards, Pearls are slaves/personal assistants/servants to their masters and are considered property they do whatever their master needs or wants, Spinels are jesters, and custom friends are rare and are also considered property.

Homeworld has a Diamond Palace with four wings with a one for each Diamond. There’s a ballroom with a throne for each.

Every diamond was created with a rank and purpose. White Diamond is the leader and is in charge of all of Homeworld and the other diamonds. She writes the laws. Below her are Yellow Diamond is in charge of the military and scientific development, and Blue diamond who is in charge of judging trials and enforcing the law. Below them was Pink diamond whose job was to throw balls and to entertain the other diamonds. Then the rest of the caste system.

Diamonds produce essence when in water that grows gems if put into the ground via injector. They have individual tubs to produce essence called Essence Chambers.

White Diamond is the tallest, oldest and can mind control other gems. She’s manipulative and intelligent. Her gem is on her forehead. Yellow Diamond can manipulate others forms. She’s a workaholic, and serious, but cares about her fellow diamonds. Her gem is on her chest. Blue Diamond can make other gems feel her emotions. She’s quiet, motherly and spoiled Pink. She’s scary and manipulative when angry. Her gem is on her chest. Pink Diamond was the shortest and the youngest. She had healing powers and sonic screams. Her gem was on her naval. She was childish, playful and energetic.

Each diamond has their own spaceship.

Each Pearl is designed at The Reef. Including personality, clothing, hairstyle, color and gem placement.

Pink Diamond despite being underestimated by the diamonds was deeply loved by them, seeing her as an energetic child who couldn’t handle any responsibilities except throwing balls for them.

Pink’s Pink Pearl enabled her childishness. One day Pink Diamond demanded to have her own colony but was denied. She was so angry that she accidentally blinded her Pearl. She felt terrible but the damage had been done. Instead of fixing her, White mind controlled her and turned her into a White Pearl and her puppet who she completely controls. She made another Pearl this time a Rainbow Pearl whose gem was on her forehead for Pink that was more mature, and formal. White still controls White Pearl to this day.

Pink was devastated and so to cheer her up she was given a pink Spinel and a garden to keep her in. Spinel was even more energetic than Pink Diamond and Pink soon grew to dislike her and see her as childish and annoying.

The diamonds gave Pink Earth as her first colony. Pink abandoned Spinel in the garden.

Soon after getting her colony a band of rebels formed to protect Earth. Her new Pearl defected and joined the rebels.

Rose Quartz shattered Pink Diamond leaving the Diamonds devastated and grief stricken.

Since her assassination the other diamonds have grieved her, and now have no idea what to do with the gems she ruled in her court.

So they decided to create a new diamond: You!

They put an injector on a star and grow you there. After a few hundred years, you form in the middle of space.

White, Yellow, and Blue watch from their spaceships as your gem glows and you form. Their Pearls stand beside them obediently. They come out to greet you as you float.
