The aroma of moldy cotton candy hung heavy in the air, swirling around Sky like a sugary embrace. Her pungent plump bare feet, normally tucked away in sneakers, reveled in the unexpected freedom. The plush carpet of the arcade tickled her soles, a delightful contrast to the usual cold tile of her bedroom floor. Sky giggled, the sound echoing through the cacophony of beeping machines and triumphant music. I was late. Traffic had been a nightmare. Any dimension we want!" My jaw dropped. I shouldn't be surprised. This was Sky. But still... "Seriously?" She nodded vigorously, her blue hair bouncing. "Yep! I tweaked the frequency modulator, bypassed the quantum entanglement grid, and...well, it's ready! Are you ready?" A grin spread across my face. "Born ready," I said, reaching for her hand.
