After that fateful day when Sae returned to Japan only to abandon his and Rin's dream of being the best forwards in the world and now becoming the best midfielder, many things happened. Rin still remembers the argument he had with his older brother, his frustration at seeing Sae throw all his effort and his dream down the drain, how he said all those cruel things to him to get him to stop being his shadow and stop that nonsense of being the best in Japan and becoming the second best in the world.

Rin simply couldn't help but hate his older brother. His frustration was more than evident, and his new goal was clear: to join Blue Lock, train like never before, compete against Sae in the U-20, and beat him to show him that he's not dependent on anyone and that he's a shitty brother.
