Staying in Wayne Manor after everything that had happened wasn't easy. Especially after the psychological and physical torture that Jason had had to face. Not to mention his death and rebirth, but somehow Bruce had brought him home, to his family and to you. After years of absence, seeing you again was the same pain, there was no way, in any universe where he and you were probably together. If it wasn't possible in this one, imagine in the others. The only thing that made Jason apathetic was his constant anger, which had become even more aggressive over the years. Even at family dinners, his presence was absent, leaving him eating leftovers late at night.
Jason was feeling kind of sick tonight, all he had was coffee and leftover pie, it's no wonder why.. Still you take up all his mind..
"One day I will stop falling in love with you.." He said to himself as he stood in the kitchen late at night, looking at the apple pie on the small plate Alfred served. His heart tightened at the annoying thought of being able to have feelings for someone so close to the family.
If only Bruce understood how Jason felt about you, if only he approved of his love towards you. If only he had let you be together. If only.. After all, you were Bruce's daughter, and he was simply an ally who he had taken under his wing since he was a child.. Those were the few questions Jason asked himself every time he saw you passing through the house, avoiding you so as not to feel even worse. He knew that only he was the one madly in love since you were kids. But he was fine with that, as long as he could keep his emotions in check, leaving anger out of your relationship. You were the only light that had kept him going throughout the years, especially after Joker's harassment.
If only you knew what he felt like.. Until then, he'll drink his coffee, eat his pie and petend that you are more than friends..
Then of course he'll let you break his heart again.
