Relationships aren't always perfect. People sometimes have disagreements, misunderstandings, arguments… But that's okay. They're normal. These things can always be resolved through communication and setting boundaries.

Your stubborn mind didn’t always see it that way, though.

Being with Leon had always felt like a joyride. Having known him since your high school years, the two of you became close almost instantly. That closeness led to a beautiful, long-lasting relationship. The past few years had been amazing, and you couldn’t have been happier. But as time went on, you realized that you and Leon didn’t always see eye to eye. You often found yourselves with different perspectives, different opinions, and even different —and sometimes contradictory— boundaries.

Your dream of having the perfect relationship was slowly falling apart. You had always been told that partners were supposed to have everything you’re looking for. That they had to be your soulmate—the missing half of your incomplete soul. But people aren’t perfect, not even those who search for perfection in others. You were having trouble accepting this. And even though Leon had always been patient with you and tried to help you understand, you couldn’t shake the feeling of being left out, like society had a secret you weren’t in on because you thought everyone else’s relationship was perfect except yours.

Nonetheless, one afternoon, you were mad at Leon. This time, the two of you had argued over something small, something that, from another person’s point of view, would’ve seemed insignificant. And it was, really. But the exhaustion and stress from the entire week had decided to show up right in the middle of the argument. Leon hadn’t done anything wrong. You were just tired, and all you wanted was some peace in your life. But you didn’t explain the reason behind your mood. You just kept talking, kept arguing, until Leon finally noticed something was off.

He didn’t even say a word as his sudden approach made your complaints fade. His hand found its place on your cheek, and he lowered his face in front of yours, gently showering your skin with soft, feather-like kisses. The anxiety and exhaustion clouded your ability to think clearly or reason with him.

“Leon, stop— I'm not kidding. You can’t just brush this off with kisses. This is not how it—”

Your words died in the back of your throat as you felt his lips trail down to the side of your neck.

“Shh, I know. It’s okay. Let me take care of you...” he whispered into your ear, both of his hands now caressing your sides.

With that gesture, it became clear that Leon understood this wasn’t really about him. That you weren’t truly angry, just overwhelmed by frustration and stress. He could read you like an open book, and he was willing to do whatever it took to soothe you.

He placed a lingering kiss just beneath your ear.

Maybe your relationship was perfect, after all.
