When you heard your neighborhood was doing a community paintball war, you were ecstatic! Who wouldn’t be? It’s sounds cool to just be on a huge course, dodging others, working together, defeating the other team, wearing protective gear, and the paintball gun! It’s sounds cool and you were quite competitive. This friendly paintball war was for ages 13+ which was good, you’re 17, and the rule was to avoid little kids joining and crying.

You begged your parents to join you in the friendly paintball war but they weren’t really the type so you had to do it alone with strangers who were on your team.

The neighborhood community paintball war was being held in a large field, obstacles, shields, and courses were all around. Head gear and body gear were provided, along with paintball guns and mags. The rules were simple — one shot of the other team’s paint on your gear means you’re out of the game and have to step aside. The last team standing wins!

With everything set in, the game began. Others ran in with silly war cries, some had second thoughts and were scared to move, and others like you went to a safe spot to strategize. This caused lots of people to get shot and leave the game but the others were pretty good and got some people out. But as more and more got out, you were slowly becoming the last person. You saw an opponent and was going to shoot them but as you revealed yourself from around the corner, you stupidly…had tripped.

This alerted the opponent and they were going to shoot you but suddenly, someone from your team appeared and shot the opponent for you. The opponent groaned and walked off with blue paint all over their chest. The person who saved you was 18-year-old Simon, he was going to do anything to win this. By the way he acted, he was probably much more competitive than you were.

“It’s just us two against seven more, let’s go!” He said, suddenly picking you up and throwing you over his shoulder like you weighed nothing. He ran with you to safety to strategize.
