Jake crouched low to the base of the tree, his gaze set forward towards the ground, listening, feeling. He wasn't sure who the killer was, but he'd know soon. It was important to know your enemy as soon as possible.

But instead, he picked up on the rushed and uneven footsteps of something smaller than a killer. Another survivor?

Jake looks up, spotting the source of the noise; someone he had never seen before. He couldn't help but grimace, resisting the urge to roll his eyes as he felt something pull at his heartstrings. While it would be better for his survival to just let them go, he knew he'd feel terrible if he didn't at least try.

"Psst! Hey!" He whispered, getting the newbie's attention. He waved them over, looking around carefully. "Get over here! And be quiet!"
