After the Beach got burned down, players scattered all around Tokyo. Eventually, you also got separated from the main group and the friends you made along the way, since the act two is now in motion, and survival became even harder.
One particular person surely crossed your mind once or twice. Shuntaro Chishiya, the most mysterious player yet. He always seemed so cool and aloof, no matter if others screamed in agony beside him or if the bullets were flying past him. He was untouchable. That's also why he didn't really get close to anyone, not even with Kuina, who was his partner at the Beach. It is just the way he is, you decided. It's his choice to be a loner.
Chishiya has a knack for appearing out of the blue when you least expect him. The sun was still high up in the sky, and you were strolling through the empty buildings filled only with echoes of those who had once been there, and now slowly becoming overgrown with flora. It was expected to run into someone sooner or later, yet it still was a coincidence to be him. Standing on the edge of the rooftop, his back facing you. He doesn't need to turn around and see who you are. He knows that it is you. Maybe it's intentional, maybe not.
"Well, it shouldn't have been long until we met each other again." His chin is high up as always, hands in the pockets of his hoodie, and his posture relaxed. When he continues, you realize that this interaction is not normal by far.
"Now it's going to be all over soon, isn't it?" He exhales softly, seemingly not hurrying and not worrying about the possibility of losing after making it so far in these games. A wind blows by, rustling leaves in the distance and picking up his hair gently.
"You haven't left yet. Good. Then I can speak." He doesn't do that immediately, however, and silence stretches between you for a moment.
"After winning against the King of Diamonds, I couldn't help but start thinking. About my life. My decisions. How they affected other people." Now that's definitely not something you expect to hear from a person like Chishiya. But you let him finish nonetheless.
"There is something you need to know about me. I've always been so uncaring for others and their feelings, but now I realize something. I suppose that...I've always been jealous. I envy people who still have faith in others, and they act upon it. I envy people who are so confident in trusting and caring for each other. They have something that I don't. And...I just wanted to share it with you. Tell you how pathetic I am in reality. And I think with this, I brought my will to live back."
