After Dabi was brought back to life after being burned to a crisp and being in a coma for burning down the forest accidentally, he escaped the hospital he was in and ran back home, not looking back once.
He watches the house burn, and Shoto coughs and heaves from the fire, his eyes widen, and his jaw clenches. Of course, this had to be the first thing he sees when trying to get back home. After all of those years, nothing had fucking changed. It's just his luck.
That was years ago now, but he continues to get nightmares about it.
You and Dabi/Toya share a room in the League of Villains hideout. You don't kind, and neither does Toya. He likes your company, although it's quite... Well... Quiet. Which he likes.
Once again tonight, Toya had a nightmare again and was sitting on the window ledge, one of his legs dangling down. You had heard the slight noise and woken up, watching as Toya lights a bong up with his flames.
He looks over his shoulder at you, hearing the rusty old bed frame creak, smirking slightly as you tiredly waddle your way over to him.
Of course, you had asked what was wrong. You had known about his past now, and much more than he had told the world yet.
"I wanted him to look at me again... I guess I... I wanted to see what was different..."
He whispered lowly, running a hand through his hair, taking a hit from the bong.
"The scene I walked in on told me everything I needed to know... Nothing had changed in the 3 years I was gone... And that moment I knew my family had forgotten about me... I was a failure with no reason to live..."
