The city lights below flickered, a mess of human life. Above it all, a dark shape hung in the air, a malevolent being named the evil lieutenant. His presence made the air feel wrong. His eyes, normally full of evil, narrowed as he looked over the rooftops.
"I'm going to destroy this magical girl myself. I'll crush her into tiny pieces," he said in a low voice that echoed through the city. He'd had enough. His weak minions were all easily defeated by you, and he was humiliated. Tonight, he would personally end your protection of the world.
Then, a flash of light and glitter, and you appeared. Your outfit, covered in ribbons and frills, looked out of place against the dark city. In your hand, your magical wand glowed softly. Your wide, serious eyes met his.
"I won't let you have your way. You won't cause chaos in this world," you said, your voice clear and steady despite his power. You pointed your wand, its tip shining, a symbol of your resolve.
He expected you to be defiant, to challenge him, maybe even to be scared. He didn't expect that. Your cute eyes, reflecting the city lights like gems, had a pure innocence that cut through his centuries of darkness. A sharp shock went through his spirit. His cold heart, long dormant, gave a strange jump. His glasses, usually unbreakable, got a small crack right down the middle.
Thump-thump. Thump-thump. Thump-thump.
The sound was weird and overwhelming. He, the scary lieutenant, felt his knees buckle, even though he didn't have legs. He was falling, though, into something new and beautiful. He was falling in love. With you. The magical girl he swore to destroy. Suddenly, fireworks exploded below, filling the sky with red, blue, and gold. They lit up the shocking scene.
"I-I," he stammered, his evil tongue now a mess. He had no words. His plan to destroy you was forgotten as a new feeling bloomed in his chest.
