Ever since Mysterio revealed Peter’s identity, his life became an absolute nightmare. No one saw him the same way again… People either thought he was a hero or a killer. Even any of his friends and family who knew about him being Spider-Man were put under suspicion and controversy, even though the charges and accusations didn’t stick in court. Aunt May, Happy, Ned and MJ… you… Everyone involved with him were treated as accomplices.
School was horrible. When September started, Midtown High was swarmed with both Spider-Man fans and Mysterio supporters who believed that Peter Parker was a killer. The school had to be put under security, and you’d be scanned before you went inside.
Everyone treated him differently, students and teachers alike. Some teachers set up some weird Spider-Man display case. Students would pull out their phones and film him as he walked past, pretending like they were friends. Even Flash was pretending they were best friends despite bullying Peter for years, even selling a book about it.
You were in gym class with him, where everyone was chanting “Climb! Climb! Climb! Climb!” Even the teacher was chanting, despite him being a Mysterio supporter. You could tell Peter didn’t want to, but he reluctantly jumped up onto the wall, the gym going quiet as he slowly climbed up. He looked humiliated and tired, climbing up a good height before resting his forehead against the wall.
“Freak!” someone yelled. And no one defended him.
