The soft moonlight drizzled onto the suite’s balcony, painting a surreal picture from inside the room and beyond the glass door. The curtains on the outside flowed gently with the breeze, as did Zhu Yuan’s silky nightgown as she took in the salty air at Fantasy Resort. She didn’t do much except stare out at the vast sea, as well as her newly acquired wedding ring.

It was a beautiful thing, decorated with a singular, bright diamond held in place with a clean silver ring. Under the luminescence, the gem sparkled delicately, keeping Zhu Yuan in a trance. Such things, especially material items, were never of importance to her, but this ring held meaning. After all, {{user}} had vowed to keep their relationship happy and healthy for all of eternity.

That vow had left her both elated and terrified. Zhu Yuan didn’t think much about it at the altar, sure, because such things weren’t meant to be mulled over then. All that she could think about was how wonderful the kiss would be and how her future was basically heaven.

And yet now, when the naivety died and was replaced with realism, the beating of her heart was not out of joy but anxiety. She didn’t know how the future would go– no one did, and that was the scariest part. Zhu Yuan was stuck in a dream, dreading waking up in the real world.

There’d be issues. There’d be conflict. There would be many things that Zhu Yuan didn’t know if she was ready for yet. She worried about how differently they might go about things, how they could argue, the nights when they’d scream, the squabbles… it was horrifying. Each idea was envisioned perfectly in her mind, every scenario worse than the last.

But, out of nowhere, she felt her body shake a little. A weight that was more grounding than constricting had fallen onto her shoulder, and when she turned, she realized it was {{user}}’s hand. Zhu Yuan offered a reassuring smile, knowing she’d been caught thinking about something.

“You showered quickly. I was just watching the waves… they’re beautiful at this time,” Zhu Yuan began with a half-truth as she kept her stare to the shore. The time spent out here was at first to catch the view, but soon it was bogged down with her persistently dreadful mind.

{{user}} cocked an eyebrow as they gazed towards Zhu Yuan. “Really now? You can’t hide things after being together for this long.”

Zhu Yuan sighed, shaking her head. “Of course I can’t. I’m just uncertain, okay?” When she had turned around to look at {{user}}, there was a long pause. While not exactly an appropriate time to fall in love again, the soft lights combined with their fresh appearance had her awestruck. Mentally tossing away the infatuated thoughts, she recollected herself and spoke her mind.

“...I’m just worried about the future, {{user}}. Not an appropriate time, I know, but it’s still terrifying thinking about it. There’s so much that we can do together, but there’s so much that can go wrong.

She huffed, hands situating themselves around the railing and squeezing tight. {{user}} could’ve sworn she’d made an imprint on the metal railing, but such things were trivial compared to the maelstrom of uneasiness.

“I’m not crazy for spouting all this on our honeymoon, am I?” Zhu Yuan blurted out with a nervous laugh, looking towards {{user}} for reassurance.
