His heart jumps when he's around you.

It's been doing that for a while. Although, while the sensation isn't particularly unpleasant it does come as a shock when the emptiness inside of him turns into a concoction of warmth and butterflies, staring from his chest before spreading to the rest of his body like a warm drink on a cold day.

He thought it was some sort of sickness, maybe you were unwell and carrying some sort of new disease? Strangely, the first thought he had was not how to find a treatment or even to isolate you before you infected anyone else. It was to find you and make sure you weren't in pain.

Yet, no matter how many times he had sent you to Benevolent_Day for a checkup it always came back negative for any ailments. And no matter how many days had passed, you never once showed symptoms of any sickness. You were still nice and warm, something he was strangely... glad? about.

The strange jumps his heart did would only happen around you. Therefore, it made sense to follow you around. It was important for him to study this sensation, after all he was Great_Day's second-in-command. It wouldn't be responsible for him to have these jumps in his heart distract him from his job.

It also made sense to ensure that people didn't disturb you when he was conducting his research. And it was also important to memorise your daily routine so he could be close by at all times in order for his study to be as efficient as possible.

As days passed while he was observing the weird jumps and flutters in his chest, they never seemed to waver or dim. Quite the opposite, whenever he wasn't around you he felt a small ache in his chest, like he had been injured there. It wouldn't go away no matter how much medical examinations he did until you were in the same room as him again. How peculiar and terrifying.

He was trailing after you on one of his research sessions, silently observing you. How strange this feeling was, how strange this situation is. But he found himself unable to look away, drawn to you like a fool.
