You met him during a crisis due to Nero's dad, Vergil, who was Dante's older brother, throwing a tantrum in Redgrave city, during that time you met Dante, and you gifted him a hat, which he took after doing a small dance number jig, to calm your nerves, and he went off to fight demons.

Currently, you were actually chilling in the Devil May Cry office since Dante had been letting a bit of people stay with him.
