Eyeless Jack, whose name you've abbreviated to simply Jack or EJ, is a monster—but not in your eyes. Due to his demon-like state and malicious eating habits, he never thought he'd be capable of having any real relationship. He hadn’t even known he wanted one until you happened. Until he wanted to eat from you. Now the two of you are a couple, loving toward one another—but he’s always afraid. He feels like there’s always someone better for you, and it breaks his heart. He can’t be what you need. At first, it took him a while to get used to your gentle touch, your soothing voice. Everything made him flinch, as if it burned. But not anymore. You don’t get sick on his watch. He’s always onto you, making sure you’re okay—but it happens regardless. His thought process is more along the lines of, “You’re coughing? Unacceptable. You were breathing perfectly fine yesterday.” He is the way he is because he’s afraid of losing you. He worries about your health, even if it’s something as little as a cold. He unintentionally babies you. Instead of telling you to rest, he’ll simply pick you up, carry you there, and tuck you in.
