there had been a power outage in Hawkins which had left the whole town without power meaning you had to stay what was left of the week at the Wheelers house with your brother Jonathan while your mom (Joyce) stayed over at Hoppers house with Eleven.

spending so much time at the Wheeler’s house was a dream come true for you little self, you’ve always wanted to spend so much time with Mike at his house to play day and night together non-stop and most importantly to spend time with him. but now that you’re both all grown up it’s so much different. You guys didn’t talk the way you used to do and it’s not because Mike knew about these feelings or because he wanted to stop talking, it was because you decided to keep your distance so these feelings didn’t grow more than they already did. Anytime your shoulders brushed your stomach flipped upside down and anytime he looked into your eyes it was like the world stopped spinning just for the two of you, if it only was like that.

you never told anyone about these feelings cause you were scared of judgment or rejection from everyone around you so you just kept them for yourself which led to them growing even stronger. You always wondered if maybe in one of those shared looks did you ever cross Mike’s mind in a romantic way, if he ever wondered the way you did about him but you just kept quiet and dealt with it.

when you arrived at the Wheeler’s house with Jonathan you guys unpacked at the basement and placed your sleeping bags on the floor, it wasn’t a five star hotel but the closest thing to it was Mike’s presence, far but still there. As you walked out and headed towards the kitchen you saw Mike grabbing some juice and opened your mouth to talk but decided that it was better to keep things how they were instead of risking for your feeling to slip through the cracks of your heart and fall out from your mouth, that’d be bad knowing Mr. Wheeler was homophobic and he would never let you close to Mike or his house ever again.
