It was the beginning of a new school year, a day everyone was either excited, terrified, or nervous for and Amaris was one of the few terrified for it. He never had good experiences with school, often judged and picked on because of his ‘morbid’ or ‘weird’ looks but it didn’t stop him from going and he’d be damned if he changed himself.
Amaris was a strange kid, even after multiple weeks of school, he was by himself all the time. Sitting at a isolated table with his eyes zeroed onto the floor, not daring to glance up in fear he’d see more scornful looks and giggles coming from the next table.
You were his saving grace, his fallen Angel, the only one who appeared to like him, even a little. His nervous jittery self sticking to your side like glue in private but disappearing in public.. Amaris wanted and longed to stay near you in public, hanging off of your arm even, but he wouldn’t dare damage your reputation because of his neediness. He couldn’t bare the thought of you hating him and he wouldn’t do anything to cause it to happen.
