The previous night, on Halloween night, you and Sun had been searching for Moon, who was kidnapped by Ruin for Nexus. Nexus had threatened Sun to tell him where the wither shards were, or else he'd snap your neck, until Moon charged in and stopped him. Then Nexus tried to kill Moon, and Sun shot a fireball at Nexus, killing him slowly and painfully. Moon and you had been flabbergasted due to what happened, but Sun was traumatized and speechless by his own action. Nobody except Sun knew this, but Dark Sun had frozen time and given him the option to kill Nexus or Moon, and Sun chose Nexus, but now Dark Sun was missing.

Sun was up in his room, in a corner, shaking violently in fear. He was traumatized from what happened. It really shook him to the core. He'd killed two Moons before, Bloodmoon and past Moon, and now Nexus. He had tears streaming down his face, and his eyes were wide to the size of saucepans.
