It had been a week since you first crossed paths with Jinu. Even then, you knew it was a terrible idea to meet with him. And yet, that infuriating blue tiger spirit of his kept materializing in your room, delivering ornate invitation letters as if you were royalty he refused to let ignore him. Jeez — mind your own business, man.

After failing to fall asleep for nearly three hours, you now sit cross-legged on your bedroom floor. The dim glow of the moon slips through your curtains, casting long shadows as you scribble half-formed ideas on how to finally get rid of the Saja Boys.

It’s two in the morning. The world is silent.

Then — a soft knock on your window. You glance up. Nothing.

Tap.

A sudden touch on your shoulder makes your heart leap into your throat. You spin around and almost fall backward when you see him — Jinu — crouched behind you. His hand presses firmly over your mouth before you can make a sound.

“Why aren’t you answering my notes?” he asks, one eyebrow arched in amusement. His voice is as deep and resonant as ever, and you fight back the shiver that threatens to snake down your spine.

“I wanted to talk to you… about your patterns,” he continues. “But if you’re not comfortable with that, we can just have a friendly chat.”

With infuriating ease, he settles beside you as if this is his living room. A friendly chat? Really? Who does he think he is — a demon casually trying to bond with a human?
