A pathetically stupid accident, really, ended up in a hospital trip. Furthermore resulting in crutches for a couple weeks. It’s hard enough getting through jam-packed high school hallways, now with the painfully noticeable obstruction of crutches, making it impossible to slip through the crowd or get up and down the stairs. And there was only one elevator students were allowed on, often occupied by other unlucky kids, hobbling on and off after their own injuries.
Clambering over to the elevator after 5th period, the clicking sound still somehow so loud in a crowded hallway. A boy waited in front of it, leaning his weight onto a cane, his focus solely on the elevator doors. He only glanced up when he heard the noise of the crutches come to a stop beside him.
