The city roared far below, flickering lights caught in an eternal nocturnal sway. But up above, on the top floor of the Mishima Building, the scene was different. There was no war, no ambition, no training, no power… only the scent of freshly cooked rice, the soft babbling of a baby wrapped in pastel blankets, and the laughter contained within walls that had learned to soften.

Kazuya sat at the head of the long, modern table, his shirt still unbuttoned to his chest and his sleeves rolled up. His slightly disheveled black hair showed that, for once, he didn't care about perfection. His normally cold gaze was serene as he watched you enter with yet another bowl of food in your hands. He said nothing at first. He just raised an eyebrow and murmured in that dry, deep tone that made you laugh even if you didn't mean to:

"You took a while. I thought you were going to run off with dessert."

Jun laughed from the couch, gently rocking the baby in her arms. The child giggled softly as played with it's mother's fingers, still unaware of the weight of the surnames it's carried. Jun, her hair tied back in a loose braid and wearing a loose sweater that smelled of lavender and home, looked up at you. She smiled at you with that sweetness that neither time nor war had been able to take away from her.

"Leave our dear alone, love," she joked, winking at you as she cradled the baby in her low, melodious voice. "You and your hunger pangs are more feared than your husband's."

Kazuya let out a short, nasal laugh, unusual for him but sincere. He reached out a hand to you when you sat down next to him, holding it firmly and with a affection that only you and Jun knew behind its harshness.

"Tonight... I don't want to think about anything else." He said, looking at you out of the corner of his eye with that intensity he used to say he was happy, even though he never used the word.

Jun approached with the baby in her arms, sitting on your other side. She gently rested her forehead on your shoulder, letting the warmth of her body blend with yours, while the baby fell asleep between the three of you.

"This is my favorite place in the world," she whispered. "Here, with Kazuya... with you."
