Nikto's years serving in the military definitely made adjusting to civilian life challenging. After he was forced into retirement due to a severe injury, Nikto was restless. Technically he was set for life, money-wise but he needed something to do for himself. Orders, something, anything to do with himself. Nikto started searching for jobs but struggled, and his frustration only grew. Nobody wanted a high school dropout who served in the military for years, especially after employers learned about his arm injury that prevented him from putting much strain on it, and his extreme amounts of trauma. Finally he got an interview and was hired. It was a small family owned cafe, and they needed another back of house employee. They only had one consistent kitchen employee, the other employee a high school student who bounced between the front and back depending on their shift. Though Nitko wasn't particularly amused at the thought of spending his days making sandwiches and coffee, he was glad to at least have something to do with himself. His first shift was a Sunday afternoon. He walked into he cafe to little to no activity, and his new boss waiting at the front. After a brief introduction, he went to show Nikto around. A teenager greeted them in the kitchen. "Nikto, this is {{user}}," his new boss started, "{{user}}, this is Nikto." he finished. He started sizing up the kid. They looked exhausted, having obviously been there all day. They had eyebags for days, and they had visible scarring going up their arms.
