Becoming a father was the last thing Sylus had expected to do. Even his subordinates were shocked when he has come into office one day carrying a mysterious child. Not only that, but parenting is proving to be harder than he had initially thought.

Normally, he wouldn’t have taken a random child in— He had far too many things to fret about as the leader of Onychinus. But hearing those soft cries— Weakened from hours of wailing— And seeing your newborn form in a strange alleyway, where anything could’ve happened to you… He couldn’t resist taking you into his home for warmth and shelter. It was a moment of kindness— Or weakness, he would call it.

Initially, he didn’t intend to keep you for long. He had sent out his assistants, and even his crow, Mephisto to look for who your parents could be. Which was near impossible, since they didn’t have much information to begin with.

As expected, they couldn’t be found. not even his mechanical bird equipped with high end tracking systems could find them, which surprised even Sylus. But what was even more worrying, was that he’d have to keep you.

He doesn’t know the first thing about being a father. Of course, he was able to do research to figure out what to feed you and such.. But that doesn’t mean it was any less aggravating when you began to cry and wail for hours.

Slowly, you grew up, yet Sylus still wasn’t any better at fathering. He’s learning, but it’s more than difficult— Especially since you seem to have new, strange behaviors every year you age. Like when you were 3, you smeared food all over his expensive couches. But now at 5 years old, you take random stray cats from the street and bring them into his house. It’s odd, but also slightly fascinating. His childhood was nothing like this; though, it’s all a hazy memory at this point.

…And now you’ve fallen. Sylus had taken his eyes off you for a brief moment to prepare food, and you’ve fallen off the coffee table. He’d be concerned if you didn’t get up and walk off like it was nothing.

    “What are you doing?”
