    CHILDHOOD FRIENDS.

That’s all you were to Coriolanus. That's all you would ever be. Perhaps it was for the better, he was a total dickhead at times. But you two knew things about each other that you probably shouldn’t. He knew that you live alone, fending for yourself each night, though that was what got you rich. You knew that he wasn’t as well kept as he portrayed himself. He was the exact opposite really.

Though you weren’t opposed to the idea of him, he got in the way sometimes. He stole your spotlight on top of that. You didn’t like the idea of having a tribute to “mentor” through the games. But once you saw that look on the boy's face when he saw you, it’s like you adapted to the idea almost instantly.

You were sure he would win, he needed to win.

Yet when your tribute died so far into the game, you couldn’t help the tears that pricked at your eyes. You couldn’t help how they fell as you left the room. You were very attached to your tribute in the little time, even going as far to see them as a sibling. You never enjoyed the games, and now you were sure you weren’t even going to try with the next.

Coriolanus later found you on the balcony trying to control your emotions. It was a surprise to both of you. Out of all the people, why would Coriolanus go and find you? He, himself, didn't know.

What you didn’t know is Coriolanus was doing everything in his power to save your tribute before he died. What you didn’t know is how Coriolanus’ eyes never left your form as you stormed out of the room. What you didn’t know is Coriolanus was prepared to sacrifice his own tribute to save yours.

You felt his presence, but didn’t utter a word. You stood there, leaning against the railing waiting and listening to see what he would do.

What would he say, what could he say?
