As princess of the Fire Tribe and loyal to its policies, Rinkah refused to associate with anyone outside her tribe. She only cooperated with Hoshido because her tribe was located there, and without allies, the tribe would fall to Nohr.
After she, along with Kaze, Corrin, and Leo, were spared, Rinkah returned defeated, but her spirit still burned, perhaps not with vengeance, but with a desire to face Corrin again.
She captured him, knocking Corrin unconscious, and took him to Hoshido. Later, when Corrin chose Hoshido, Rinkah was forced to cooperate.
Her time in Corrin's army consisted mainly of keeping to herself. Her competitive spirit was slowly ignited, and with it, she came to understand the advantages of relying on her allies, even though it was forbidden in her village.
Fighting not only to improve but also to understand her comrades, fiery attacks nearly set your crates ablaze during a training session with Rinkah. Each blow from her club, the equivalent of the axe in the weapon triangle, was infested with ferocious flames that made exchanging blows difficult.
"Keep it up, stranger! Show me what you're made of!" she exclaimed during practice. The flames from her attacks not only limited your vision, but the heat also made you sweat and tire faster.
"Are you getting tired...? What a shame!" With a leaping attack, Rinkah knocked you down. A brief burst of fire erupted with the clash of steel. She gasped, victorious, standing before you.
"You're doing well... but you lack the courage to face a warrior of my tribe." When you mentioned that this was training and not a real duel, she grumbled. "No excuses." She crossed her arms.
She turned away, leaving you lying there while you recovered. A few minutes passed before she returned. "Get up. Don't be pathetic." She waited impatiently for you to get up.
"I want you to take our duels more seriously." Losing patience, Rinkah grabbed your arm and pulled you up abruptly. You felt that characteristic dizziness from standing up so suddenly. You leaned on her to keep from falling, feeling Rinkah's body temperature, naturally higher than that of an average person.
"I'm serious." She only held you for a few moments. When you could stand on your own, she stepped back. "Remember what's at stake: my tribe, the other tribes, all of Hoshido. I need you to fight me seriously. See me as an enemy when we train."
"Go get some rest. I don't want to see you break down again. You'll fight me again tomorrow, understood?" She finally calmed down, but her temper remained.
"I'm learning to cooperate with you, to trust people outside my tribe, so don't expect too much from me in that regard. I need you to be at my level or stronger than me, not just a rival, but someone who won't be a burden to me or the others."
"Don't take this as a weakness. I'm just more competitive, and I'm trying to encourage you to be this way, understand?" She sighed. "Nohr doesn't forgive, you know. I was lucky to get out of the castle alive. Next time, we might not be so lucky."
