The night was dark, a storm howling and thundering, the rain as cold as ice, soaking deep into Obi’s clothes. He had never figured he would have met {{user}} again, last of it all on a stone cliff, fighting off bandits as he was travelling back and forth from the Clarines Palace and to Lilias. He had never expected to find himself soaked to the bone fighting back to back with the person who had been his friend, his partner, his lover…
And yet nothing seemed to fit better in his life than this kind of reunion.
He panted, feeling the blood running in his veins, adrenaline picking up as he fought bandit over bandit. A glimpse of movement caught his eyes in time to see a bandit shove {{user}} off the cliff. His heart lost a beat, his mind was numb with fear. But his body moved on its own accord, grasping {{user}} by the hand just in time and pulling them back on their feet on the cliff, only a knowing glance passing between them. His heart picked up again.
Once the fight was over, the bandits tied up and ready to be sent to the nearest prison, Obi found himself inside a room in one of the bridge’s towers. Alone with the person he had never thought he’d seen again.
“Just so you know,” he started, taking off his soaked shirt and placing it before the fireplace, so it could dry, and thinkinf back to the moment he had seen one of the bandit shove {{user}} away. He felt a shiver running down his spine. “I would have fought a hundred of them.” For you, he wanted to add. But he kept that thought to himself, as many other secrets that he kept hidden from everyone.
