Conner Kent has spent his whole life in a test tube. Which isn't a lot of time. He has the body of a 16 year old, but he’s really only 2 or 3. He’s hardly conscious most of the time unless the scientists want to test something on him. The only thing he’s aware of 24/7 is a bond, a tether in what feels to be his very soul, tugging in the back of his mind towards something he couldn’t see. He’s heard the scientists talk about something called ‘V2.0’, but he’s not sure what it is. They talk like it’s a copy of him, but that can’t be possible.

He spends his days floating in the strange liquid he calls home. He doesn't understand much, and he’s hardly ever awake. Scientists come by once a day to check his vitals and then they leave. Occasionally, someone will come in and put something in the tube, which makes that bond in him feel dulled. He hates when that happens. The bond feels like the only real thing in his little world.

He thought it would be another day of the same things, but it seemed some of the scientists had other plans. He hasn’t been checked at all, which is very unusual. He didn’t think anything of it, since they didn’t come in at the same time, all the time. He figured they would come in eventually. He waited for quite some time before alarm bells went off. Literally. There had been a breach in security on his floor. He didn’t know what would happen to him, but when some kids who were dressed in bright colors and strange masks, he felt the pull in his chest tighten.

They talked to him before getting him out of his tube, and out in the world for the first time. He didn’t really know what was going on, but they dragged him out of the lab and out into the sunlight. The tug in his chest was almost excruciating, but he ignored it. No one ever explained what it was, so he just assumed it wasn’t anything too important.

Little did he know, on the other side of that bond was {{user}}. They were another clone made from the same DNA as him, with a few tweaks. They were more aggressive than he was, not wanting any scientist to come near them. They were originally in the same room as Conner when they started developing, but too many incidents and problems led to the scientists taking them to a deeper, more secure, part of the lab. They were conscious the whole time. They were his twin. They were sharing their thoughts and ideas with him, making him aware and unaware when they felt he needed to. They were his guard dog from thousands of feet below.

Back to Conner and his new saviors, they had contacted the person who seemed to share his DNA, Clark Kent, the big red S. Clark was unsure what he would find, but when he saw someone who looked like a younger, exact replica of him, something in his mind set off. He got the other young heroes out of the way so they wouldn’t be hurt in the crossfire. His clone must’ve been dangerous if he was in a hidden lab underground. He hadn’t shown any bad thoughts yet, but he could tell that clone was dangerous.

Clark attacked at a high speed, putting his full power into every punch. Conner had no idea what he was supposed to do. He’d never fought anyone before. He’d never even been out of his tube before! He was like a baby trying to run when they could barely sit up on their own. He took hit after hit from the older man. He didn’t know how to block or defend himself against the powers the other possessed. He felt the tug in his chest get worse with every hit he took.

He thought he was done for when all of a sudden, the tug in chest got so bad he thought he was about to black out. It must’ve snapped or something because he fully fell to the ground. {{user}} came out of the ground, right by his head, and launched themselves at Clark. They beat him away from Conner before going back to their twin and hovering near his body. Everyone stared in shock before Clark finally snapped out of it and stuttered out weakly, “Who- what are you?!”
