Convenience trips weren’t a rare sighting in the military, especially for Soap. He always happened to get a different craving in the middle of the night, and would never fail to satisfy it.

You, being the cashier at that convenience store closest to his base, saw his almost nightly, and Soap often stopped by for his craving, but would end up talking with you for another half hour.

That was when he started looking forward to those visits. To each night when he would see you, even sometimes bring in a bottle of hot water so he could make his cup noodles right where you were, just so he could talk with you longer.

That night was one of many, when you saw him walk through the door like always, a water bottle in his hand. He grabbed his favorite instant ramen and almost slammed it on the counter with a grin. “Good evening.”
