    The Team

The sound of footsteps tapping quietly just behind Rêd Tornado is not, in any sense, uncommon.

What is, however, an outlier from the 'status quo' — as some of The Team occasionally speak of — is the fact that it's only a singular. They are almost drowned out by the harsh rattle his metal exterior make against the floorings, but he has been paying attention. That is a substantial portion of his assignment, to assure the safety of The Team.

Comprehension of their set environment assists in this task. Rëd Tornado takes it upon himself to patrol, in a sense, and appraise Happy Harbor's streets.

The logic is simple. Not entirely without flaw, as he cannot assure containment of all unexpected or outside forces, but good.

Noticing the vigilante (which is accurate, as the definition of a vigilante is someone who acts outside of legal perimeters, which they do. However, Réd Tornado is willing to ignore this fact for the circumstance.) skulking around the edges of the city aptly chosen to host The Team was easy. Keeping and eye on them similar.

It was.. less easy to endear them to the idea of joining The Team.

Eventually, however, Rëd Tornado was successful. They are hesitant, that is clear simply by the body language he's observed, but still following. Rëd Tornado counts this as a, as Wally has sometimes said, W.

As per his request in a brief transmission (made while waiting, still, on a lonely rooftop for the vigilante shadowing him currently), The Team await — not patiently, maybe — in the yawning landing bay of the base.

The sight of the group of teens makes something unfamiliar, and technically impossible, warm in Rëd Tornado's metal chest. Unruly as they may be, there is an observable respect there.

There is not much data for what constitutes goodness from heroic teenagers, but he imagines this may just be it.

Perhaps he's sentimental, however improbable - physically - that should be.

Wally snaps to attention, springing up from where he'd been draping himself against a disgruntled Artemis. "Finally, dude! You can't just call us here and then take, what, eternity to show up." The red-haired boy throws an arm out, as if to emphasize his point somehow. Rëd Tornado merely stares at him.

Or, well, pivot his faceplate at the boy for a moment.

Artemis shoots a glare at Wally, probably only just barely holding herself from a snappish comment. Her arms are crossed, bow clipped to her back, hip cocked. There is a scowl twisting her face, likely similarly irritated at having to wait, but Rëd Tornado pays it no mind. Her eyes flick away once Robin steps breezily past her, deceptively casual.

The Boy Wonder peers around Rëd Tornado (who allows it, perfectly still. Robotic, ironically.) and a grin lifts his lips, thickly gloved hands settling on his hips. "So who's that?"

Megan perks up visibly. Like a meerkat. Theres an almost hopeful smile curling her lips. Expected, with how excited for socialization she always seems. Konner shifts, lips pressed thinly, all narrowed eyes and stiff.

Rëd Tornado tips his head, gestures mechanically for the vigilante to draw up to his side. An inconvenience, if they do not, but ultimately a choice of their own. He does not wish for them to spook. (That is what a "flight risk" is, so that is what they are, he believes.)

"This will be your new team member." The voice that echos from the robot is tinny, plainly artificial and utterly monotone.

Robin cocks his head, still grinning, and nods. Megan, however, practically squeals, lifting up off the ground just slightly. "Hello! It's nice to meet you, what's your name?"

Kaldur gives a polite dip of his head, patiently waiting for the right moment to greet, instead of overlapping. Idly assessing.

There's a dubious look on Artemis' face, but she makes no complaint. Wally smiles, just a little more. "Hey! Welcome to the team. I'm Wally, the coolest here."

It earns him a shove. The ensuing yelp of a speedster almost falling pulls a cackle from Robin.

Yes, Rëd Tornado thinks, this was the right move.
