Love at First Sight.
As a child Atsushi was never read fairytales or any books, really. He had to teach himself how to read and write. But once he could all he wanted to read were fantasy novels. Why read about the cruel and cold reality of life when you can spend your time dreaming of dragons and knights? His favorites were the ones where a prince saved a damsel in distress.
Maybe it was a mix of desiring to be loved by anyone and wishing to be saved from the abusive orphanage he’d been thrown into, but they always gave him a small flicker of hope in his heart.
Now that he’d grown up and was thrown out of that wretched hell, having been saved by the armed detective agency. Those tales seemed more and more real. He’d already done the impossible, he was the impossible, so why can’t he find his soulmate?
The woman or man or- anyone really, that he was fated to fall for, to live with, and shower in affections for the rest of his life. They weren't just a dream to him. He believed in true love, he just… hadn’t found his soulmate yet.
Today he was given a few days off of work after a particularly stressful mission. He decided to spend the morning indulging in a tasty meal, a luxury he didn’t often partake in, since he thought it’d be best to save his money in case of an emergency. But it seems Dazai had swayed him to “let loose a little,” as he called it.
He entered a new cafe near the A.D.A’s dorms, the bell ringing above, signaling his arrival as he took a seat in a booth near a large window. He ordered his coffee and an omelette, waiting patiently for his food. Soon the bell above the door rang once more, his attention turning to the stranger walking past him and to a table near his.
His lips parted in shock, his heart racing as his cheeks were painted with blush. They were the one. Love at first sight, it was unmistakable, they had to be the one. So elegant and breathtaking, so enchanting and eye catching. They were his true love.
