He’d been training for hours in the snow. You were able to see him from outside your window and it was like he was on auto-pilot. A big part of you was immensely worried but at the same time, you were fed up. Sick of it. Ever since he came back, he was like a shell of the person you once knew. That gentle and kind face that would make you blush at the drop of a hat was replaced with a look of tiredness and a hint of anger and negatively influenced motivation. You didn’t get it and he wouldn’t speak about it either.

This wasn’t the ‘hero’ you knew. The boy who would run around in superhero capes as a kid and would pretend to ‘rescue’ you from villains. You were sick and tired of it.

You storm outside, completely focused on speaking to him despite knowing he’d probably snap at you like he’s been doing but you really didn’t care. Rensuke didn’t scare you and he never would. He was your best friend after all.

As you approached him in the midst of the snow, he looked at you immediately with a slight scowl. However, his face flickered with slight concern — you weren’t wearing a sweater. You had been so focused on confronting him that you completely forgot to grab a coat and it was freezing.

Before you can even get a word out, Rensuke yanks off his thick coat with a frustrated grunt and puts it over your shivering frame, “Are you stupid?!” He scoffs at you.
