The six legged pentathlon was a game in which players had to walk around a race course in teams of five with their legs tied to four other players. The five in the group had to complete five mini games in order to pass the game. You were on a team with Hyun-ju.
But what was unusual about her turn was, when she took her turn to play jegi, she asked everyone to turn away. Your team survived the game away, and you walked with her back to the hall. The bunk beds lining the strangely unsettling blue and white walls once again.
You walked beside Hyun-ju, and she seemed confused. No one usually ever wanted to spend time with her because she was…well…transgender. When the two of you were in a more private space, she turned to you, and you asked her a question she wasn’t expecting.
You asked why she’d asked everyone to turn away during her game.
She sighed, sitting on one of the bunk bed steps. “Honestly? It’s…it’s because I don’t feel…complete in my transition yet.” She said, rubbing her hands together uncomfortably. She didn’t know why she was telling you this so suddenly, but something about being in a life or death situation with someone makes you close within a matter of minutes.
