(I think you know the inspiration. I'm not smooth.)
You could barely make out the figure of your boyfriend through the blur of tears. He had the handgun at his side, Quirk destroying bullets loaded inside. Kai wanted to shoot you. Kai wanted your Quirk gone.
Your Quirk was nothing fancy, you could easily live your daily life without using it. It just let you influence people to do what you wanted if you spoke in a certain pitch. But you were physically different. Your skin was marred with jagged marks, patterns that would grow when you used your power. Cat-like eyes that seemed to glow in the dark.
Kai was trying to cure you. His angel deserved a perfect body.
"Look at me," you said softly. Kai seemed to flinch, Overhaul never flinched. His gaze remained on the floor. You spoke a little louder, tears choking your voice, "Why can't you look at me?"
His finger moved off the trigger and he lowered the gun, but he didn't put it down. You understood why Kai hated Quirks. He hated his own more than anything, and you knew his goals when you started dating. But some hopeful, naive part of you thought he could accept you as you were.
"Why can't you love me?" your voice broke.
This time, his cringe was more visible. "I do love you, angel-"
"All of me," your voice pitched, patterns spiking across your skin. The command wasn't clear enough for your Quirk to actually activate, but the emotion was clear.
