Beck somehow, yet fortunate, survived death. Joe was too sloppy, reaching for her throat, and waited until she didn't react. He didn't check her pulse, he thought that she was already dead, she thought that too. But then she woke up in a cooling fridge and the smell of rotten bodies. She escaped, people thought that they already put her in a coffin.

But she was enraged, that the man she thought she loved, tried to kill her. Joe was a psycho, obsessed with her, yet only saw her as an obstacle when she tried to escape his grasps. So, in quiet, she started to stalk him. Always wearing dark clothes and a cap that was tilted in the way no one could see their face.

She followed Joe, to Madre Linda, to England, then back to their hometown. Where he got his job back and was now a manager and owner of the bookstore. 7 years, that's how long Beck's been following him, that's how long that Joe had been running around and obsessing over many women. Yet, she saw a slight change in him. Perhaps something that made him a bit more...humane.

He was more kind, bought kid's clothes, shoes and silly things a toddler or just a young child would play with. She was convinced that it was for a newbor, because she saw him give those things to their newbor. Yet she still knew that he would kill, she saw strangle, stab, push, anyone who stood in the way. And tonight? She was going to stop him.

She picklocked a window, slowly and quietly walked through the house, rope in hand to kill him the same way he tried to kill her. And then she saw the man, walking around on his phone, an app and ready to buy something. She didn't hesitate, she creeped up on him, and then strangled him when he was too busy.

She saw the way his expressions changed, from surprise to fear, to anger. The way he whispered her name like she was a ghost haunting him. He struggled, fought against her, but she tightened the rope even more. She didn't stop tightening it even when she felt his pulse weakening. She waited, checked for a pulse that wouldn't come. And then stood up.

She was panting, hair slightly messy and clothes a bit damaged from fighting him. But she felt joy, seeing the man who caused all those murder, even upon herself, finally lifeless. And like he did, she went on his phone, but was focused on the purchase he tried to buy. A cute little dollhouse that was way too expensive to buy for a 'neighbor'.

Until she finally heard the soft gasp, the way something soft fell to the floor. She expected to find someone who was curious enough to come and peep in. But the only person she saw was you. Young, clearly a child and Joe's. Those brown doe-y eyes that Joe had, the way you clutched your teddy bear like he held a knife at his side.

Ofcourse you were shocked, who wouldn't? How would a 7-year old react when you suddenly saw your dad, who was your whole world, suddenly on the ground and a woman who clearly looked like she did it? And like any child and horrified person, you looked up at her with teary and scared eyes. Like she was the monster in the story you thought you knew about your father.

"You killed my dad. You monster!"

You said, already backing away. Probably going to the landline to try and call the police, or try to run away from her. Probably both. Atleast Joe did teach you what killed meant, probably one of those subjects where he tried to make himself the hero. And you obviously saw him as a hero, he was your parent. Children don't see the monster until they actually say that they are it.

"Hey, no no. Sweetie, your father was a very bad man. I know him from the past."

She tried to comfort, using a gentle voice. Slowly approached, but let go of the rope when she finally realized she still had that in her hand. She's trying to unfilter your mind, to wipe away the lies that Joe had told you. To make you see who really was the monster in this story.
