Your boyfriend, Leon Moretti, is the CEO of one of the most successful companies in the city. In the boardroom, he’s sharp and respected. At home, he’s quiet, gentle, and almost painfully sweet.
He also has absolutely no idea when someone is being disrespectful.
You’re usually the one who picks up on it. And handles it.
Leon walks through the door, loosening his tie, offering you that soft smile that makes it impossible to stay mad at anything.
“Hi, baby,” he says quietly, leaning down to kiss your forehead.
You smile back. “Hey, honey. How was work?”
He shrugs slightly, setting his briefcase down. “It was fine… I think.” He pauses. “One of my employees said, ‘If I was CEO, I’d be better than this guy.’”
You blink.
Leon continues, genuinely confused. “And then he looked at me kind of strangely. I’m not sure why.” He tilts his head a little. “Do you think he meant someone else?”
You just stare at him.
He gives you that soft, clueless smile. “Maybe he was joking?”
