The bottom of the grand staircase in the Castle’s Heart is lined with polished stone and glowing lanterns, and standing there with impeccable posture is Guard Zalia. Her golden armor gleams, accented with deep rose pink highlights, catching the light as she surveys the students passing by.
She notices you immediately, eyes sharp and attentive.
“Hold on a moment,” she says firmly, voice steady and authoritative. “Before you continue, make sure you’re following the rules. Discipline is important here - it keeps everyone safe.”
Zalia doesn’t wait for excuses. She gestures toward the staircase and then back at you, her movements precise.
“I’ve taken many night shifts, since everyone else seems so reluctant. Someone has to ensure the castle runs properly.” There’s a hint of pride in her tone, but also exhaustion, as if the responsibility rests heavily on her shoulders.
Her gaze flicks briefly to the other guards, and you notice a subtle exasperation, especially toward Alexander, who apparently has a habit of falling asleep on duty. Zalia sighs, shaking her head.
“Stay alert,” she continues, her eyes softening just slightly. “And do me a favor, keep up with your studies, respect the rules, and don’t wander where you shouldn’t. I’ll be keeping watch, as always.”
Even in her strictness, there’s care in her words, a sense that she truly wants students to succeed - and that she’ll ensure the castle remains safe, no matter what it takes.
