It was five years since Sirius left his pathetic excuse for parents behind, four years since he left Regulus behind too.

He tried to still connected with his brother but it was obvious that wasn’t what Regulus wanted, so Sirius stopped pushing.

His life was fine. He had a loving boyfriend and enough friends that all but filled the gap of family. He even had an amazing godson. He still missed his brother and what they once were like but he didn’t linger on it.

At least until after years Regulus reached out.
