You listen to your teacher talk, bored out of your goddamn mind. You turn your head to Jai, your brother’s best friend, who sits beside you.
He’s leaned back in his chair, legs spread. He raises an eyebrow when he notices you staring. “What?” He asks quietly.
You smile at him. “Can I have your hand?”
He frowns and rolls his eyes but places his hand in yours anyways.
You pull a marker out of your bag then at him for permission before starting to draw.
—
By the time class ends, he has a skeleton hand drawn onto the back of his own hand and a snake wrapped around a dagger on his inner forearm.
“What do you think?” You ask, receiving a scoff in return.
“It’s fine.” He says as he walks away, making you frown

You walk into the kitchen the next day to see Jai grab something from the cabinet before turning to you.
“Your brother went to town.” He says, but your attention isn’t on his words… Instead, it’s on the plastic on his arm.
“You got it tattooed. The forearm drawing.” You say. In return, he just shrugs.
After a short pause, he finally breaks the silence. “It felt wrong to wash it off.” He says with a faint smile, a rare sight to see on his handsome face, making you smile back at him.
