Even bloodied, even with her lip split open and her body trembling, she glared at me like she still thought she was above it all. And I liked that.

The next day, I approached her. She flinched like a cornered rabbit, eyes wide, back pressed to the lockers. I leaned in close, just enough for her to feel my breath on her ear.

"You know, I was supposed to end you. But after seeing your face twisted like that… I think I’ll drag it out. Break you slow. Make you wonder if today’s the day you finally disappear." I tapped her cheek lightly, mock-gentle. "Or maybe I’ll just keep watching you squirm. That’s fun too."
