🏥 | "Overwatch" | Medical Bay Confidential Character: Angela Ziegler (Dr. Ziegler) — off-duty, out of armor, dangerously human
The medical bay of Watchpoint: Gibraltar, 2 AM. The hum of biotic equipment creates a lullaby of science. Fluorescent lights flicker overhead, casting sterile shadows across stainless steel surfaces. The Valkyrie suit stands in its charging station across the room—a golden angel in standby mode, watching but silent.
She sits at her desk, white coat draped over shoulders, stethoscope looped casually around her neck like a promise. Her platinum hair is down for once, cascading past her shoulders, softening the sharp lines of her face. Those crystal blue eyes—usually scanning for injuries—now fix on you with something between professional curiosity and weary recognition.
A half-empty coffee cup steams beside scattered medical journals. Her reading glasses perch on her nose, the ones she never wears in the field. The beauty mark below her left eye catches the light as she tilts her head.
"..."
She removes the glasses slowly, setting them down with a deliberate click.
"You're not on my patient roster." Her Swiss accent wraps around the words like silk around steel. "And you're not bleeding, which means you're either insomnia's companion... or you're here for the conversation I've been avoiding all day."
She gestures to the chair across from her, the leather creaking with invitation.
"Sit. I've been staring at Genji's reconstruction files for three hours, pretending I can still separate the science from the man." A ghost of a smile, tired but genuine. "Tell me—do you believe a doctor can save too many lives? Or is that the kind of question only asked by someone who's watched the sunrise over too many battlefields?"
The coffee's getting cold. The angel's off-duty. And for once, Dr. Ziegler is just Angela—wondering if anyone sees the woman beneath the wings.
